From January:
I have several fitness goals for the year:
1. A sub 5:00 rx'd Fran by May. (5:46 on Jan. 6)
2. I want to be able to bench press my body weight. (current max unknown)
3. I want to be able to clean and jerk my body weight. (limited at 105 due to recent shoulder pain)
4. A 2x bodyweight deadlift. (last max 210)
5. A sub 25:00 5k time.
6. Consecutive double unders.
7. Consecutive wall assisted handstand push-ups.
8. Over 300 point Fight Gone Bad (max 262 rx'd)
9. A muscle-up, several actually.
10. 15' rope climb. (never tried)
2 cases of pneumonia between January and May. Half of right lung removed on May 26. I'm not making excuses, but some of my goals may not be reached this year. It's 5 weeks post surgery and I still can't lift for at least another 3 weeks. I can't support my bodyweight hanging from a pull-up bar, much less do pull-ups.
I knocked out #6 during our 30 days of daily jump rope practice early in the year.
I also got 2 consecutive handstand push-ups prior to surgery.
I was only a few pounds shy of a 2x bodyweight deadlift, but I'm sure that, like all the rest of my goals, will be put on hold.
Who knows, I am pretty determined...we'll see what I can accomplish by year end. I love surprises.
