I spend my rest days, well, ok, a lot of my days reading affiliate sites. Today I found this. Although I am the only woman posting on this site, I hope that others will see it and share with the women in their lives. Maybe it will encourage someone...
Crossfit from a Mom’s point-of-view
Crossfit is not only utilized by our military on the battlefield, our law enforcement protecting us on the streets or the grappler preparing for his next match. Crossfit is also utilized by me….a mom
If I should get attacked, I know that Crossfit has provided me the muscular strength and endurance to kick and push away my attacker and still rapidly carry my daughter to a safe place.
My instructor is not only teaching me the proper way to do a “clean and jerk,” she is teaching me to use my body positioning to lift, get under and control an x-amount of weight. That x-amount of weight could be anything in a situation. It could be a heavy object that has fallen on my child. It could be the only thing that I have in a room to protect myself; it is up to me to lift the object and control it so I can use it to my advantage.
Crossfit is knowing I am able to push my body harder, faster and longer than I ever thought possible. I am not Wonder Woman or Super Girl nor do I want to be. I am, however, a woman who is strong, fit and able to protect those who call me Mom.

Congrats to the "new" folks on board!! You won't be disappointed. My only advise is, make sure you have plenty of ibuprofen for the first month....I mean day or two. :)
Seriously though, you will feel the best you ever have after doing this for a couple of months. Just stick to it.
Jennie- thanks for the post. I'm going to get my wife to read that and maybe, hopefully I can get her to drink the kool-aid!
Just like Roy, I made an addition to my crossfit repertoire today!! I did 13 muscle ups. Even did 3 in a row. Now, when that muscle up wod comes up, maybe I'll be able to do it as rx'd. Oh yeah, congrats again to you Roy. You had those in you all along, didn't need my help! Can't wait to see Slack again. hehe!
