That's some nice work you did there, engineering up a ghetto-bell...now make me a box!

Note:
If you are new to the split jerk or olympic lifts in general, focus on your technique. Start with a good warm-up. If you work directly from the website, watch todays video by Coach Burgener it will help with your base. On the lift, the barbell is held just as in a front squat. Concentrate on core stabilization and an aggressive dip drive to initiate the momentum on the bar so that you can pull yourself under the weight. You want to have your arms locked out at full extension with the barbell directly overhead when you land in the lunge. The back leg then comes forward as you stand.
Don't be afraid to go light on this until you feel comfortable with the movement. The weight will come. If you have questions come by and visit, we are here to help.
